Concrète is the real. First related to sound through the term musiquè concrète as a movement which utilized phonographic technology which could capture real sounds.

Over seventy years later, the reality of sound has changed drastically. The electric hum of machines is as real as a yawn. The machines themselves are very real, and all of them have their sonic fingerprint. Working with the machines is working with the real. Getting them to express and emote, that is the art.

CS² Recordings emerges as a label dedicated to the systems by which these sounds are composed, arranged and performed. It is a complete system from real sound design to real sound systems. The artists of CS² build sounds and systems for sounds that cover the spectrum of human reality in the 21st century.

This site is the central presence of CS² in a virtual space. It allows access to delving into these new modes of sound. We hope that as you explore their likeness you will be drawn into an experience that which can only be described as real.
